AI HR Bot

Employee guide

What you can ask AI HR Bot, and what it does with the answer.

Talking to it

Message the bot directly, or mention it in a channel. There is nothing to install and no account to create — it already knows your Slack account.

The first conversation is short: it fills in the profile it needs, and some of it is already there, read from your Slack profile. If something is wrong later, say so and it will correct it.

Asking about policy

Ask in your own words — how much notice a holiday needs, when payday is, what the wifi password is.

Answers come from the Knowledge Base entries your own HR team has written, not from the internet and not from a general model's guesses about employment. That has a consequence worth knowing: when there is no entry for what you asked, the bot tells you it does not know rather than making something up, and sends your question to HR. If they answer it, the bot has it from then on — for you and for everyone else.

Checking your Leave Balance

You have two balances: paid days off and vacation. Ask for either.

The figures are fractional, because days can accrue monthly — 1.6667 a month is an ordinary rate. What you are told is rounded down to two decimals, never up, so the number is never more than you actually hold.

Sick days and unpaid days off are not counted against a balance at all.

Filing a Request

Say what you want in a sentence — "I'd like Friday off", "I'm working from home Tuesday", "I'll be in around 10:30". The bot fills in the details, files the Request, and sends it to whoever your HR team decided should approve that kind of Request, usually your Lead and then your HR Contact.

You get a direct message when a decision lands. An approval comes with your updated balances; a denial comes with the reason the person who denied it gave.

Nothing stops you asking for more days than you have — the Request is filed and goes for approval like any other. Your balance will not go below zero, so if it is approved anyway, what you had is what comes off.

If you are new

Nothing stops you asking because you are new. There is no minimum service rule and nothing to clear first — someone who started this morning can file a Request, and it goes for approval like anyone else's. Whether it is granted is a decision your approvers make, not a rule the bot enforces.

What being new does affect is how much you have. Days accrue monthly from your Hire Date, so early on the balance is simply small. And if your Hire Date is not on file, nothing accrues at all — the bot will tell you your balance is frozen rather than turn you away, and that is a field for HR to fill in, not you.

What it remembers

It keeps a Memory of things you tell it, so you do not have to repeat yourself, and the most recent entries inform later answers. Your HR team can read and delete that Memory from their dashboard. Your conversation with the bot is stored too — what that means in full is on our privacy page.
